Hidden Waterfall: Hope River, Gordon Town

With summer fast approaching, we sometimes feel the urge to explore, discover and most importantly, make memories. So my friends and I decided to go waterfall hunting. With no clear cut directions as to how we would find this particular part of the river, we stepped out my comfort zone and decided to go for it! We discovered the most breathtaking waterfall ever.

I've really only seen these waterfalls in pictures on Instagram.

After a five minute stroll through Penfeild, a quaint community in Gordon Town. We found this beautiful hidden treasure. The refreshing air that cascaded from the hills coupled with the mist from the waterfall soothed our spirits. A trip that should have only lasted 2 hours turned into 5, simply because we didn't want to leave this mystical getaway.

How to get there?

From the Papine square, get a Gordon taxi route taxi, Let the driver know you want to get to the falls in Penn Field. After passing through Gordon Square, there is a bar on the left hand side of the road, turn up that hill and walk for another 5 minutes. This trip should cost you $150.00.

To get back to Papine, simply walk back to the bar and get a route taxi heading to the Papine town center.

Food

As mentioned earlier, the falls is an rural community, as such there are no food shops in close proximity to the area so you will definitely need to walk with a few snacks.

Remember to pack light because you will have a little walking to do!

You should definitely visit!
